Dr. Saeed Ganji was born in Tehran Iran. He came to the United States to study in late 1973. He advanced his education by receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978, a Master's of Science degree in Power Systems, Transmission & Distribution in 1981, and a Doctorate of Science degree in Power Systems, Transmission & Distribution in 1988, from George Washington University, and he completed his Ph.D. in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) in 2005 from Howard University. His dissertation was on Image Understanding Based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) And Stochastic Learning Automata (SLA).
Dr. Ganji joined Electrocom Corporation in 2003, an R&D engineering firm conducting research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology concentrating in tubes and wires, and continues to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Dr. Ganji currently sits on the Board of Directors of Index Corporation, a holding company specialized in consulting. He has served as a board member of numerous organizations throughout his career. Additionally he spent eight years as a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at George Washington University teaching electronics related courses. He supervised a research team to work at ARL and NRL. He has been instrumental in securing funding from DOD, DOE, NSF, NASA, and NIST. He is a member of PES, SPS, and AOPA.
He is a pilot and enjoys flying, driving, and traveling. He has been an active member of the National Union For Democracy in Iran (NUFDI) since 2003.
